Pipedrive
A sales-only CRM that wins on simplicity and price per seat, and publishes every usage cap on its pricing page
Scored on the published rubric, from documentation, pricing and verified user reports.
Best for: Sales teams of 3 to 30 that live in a deal pipeline, want automations and email sync without a platform around them, and are happy to pay per seat with no free tier.
Verdict
Pipedrive is the pipeline specialist of this division and it wins the cluster on points. Ease scores 9 and value scores 9 on our 10-point card, the best value round of the three CRMs. This is a documentation review: every figure comes from Pipedrive's pricing page, its published usage limits table and verified user reports on Capterra, all read on October 10, 2026, not from paid trials or staged demos. The pricing page is unusually honest. Four plans, Lite at $14, Growth at $24, Premium at $49 and Ultimate at $69 per seat per month billed annually, with the caps for leads, custom fields, reports, automations and email syncs printed next to each one. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Features score 8 because Lite has no email sync or automations, the marketing and lead-capture tools are paid add-ons below Premium, and reporting is the most common complaint in user reviews. Support scores 8: live chat is listed 24/7 on every plan, but phone hours only widen on Ultimate. Buy it if the pipeline is the product you need. Skip it if marketing must live in the same database.

Where it is strong
- Growth at $24 per seat per month billed annually includes full two-way email sync, automations and sequences
- Every usage cap is printed on the pricing page: leads and deals, custom fields, reports, automations, email syncs, API tokens
- No seat minimum and no onboarding fee on any plan; implementation is free on plans above $400 per year, per the pricing FAQ
- Live chat support is listed 24/7 on all four plans, plus a 24/7 chatbot and Knowledge Base
- Nova meeting intelligence, with pre-call briefs and call transcripts, is listed on every plan including Lite
- Premium and Ultimate bundle the LeadBooster, Projects and Smart Docs add-ons that cost extra on lower tiers
Where it falls short
- No free plan; the 14-day trial is the only way in
- Lite has no automations and no two-way email sync, so most teams need Growth at $24
- Lite caps custom fields at 30 per company and reports at 15 per seat
- Marketing campaigns and website visitor tracking are paid add-ons on every plan
- Reporting depth is the most repeated limitation in verified user reviews
What Pipedrive actually is
Pipedrive is a sales CRM and nothing else. There is no marketing hub, no service desk, no accounting module. The product is a kanban pipeline of deals, a leads inbox in front of it, and an activity calendar underneath.
Everything else is bolted on as a paid add-on: LeadBooster for chatbots and web forms, Campaigns for marketing email, Projects for delivery, Web Visitors for site tracking, Smart Docs for proposals and e-signatures.
That focus is the whole story of this scorecard. Against HubSpot CRM, Pipedrive is smaller and cheaper. Against Zoho CRM, it is simpler and less customizable.
This is a documentation review. Scores come from the pricing page and its usage limits table, the Knowledge Base and verified Capterra reviews, all read on October 10, 2026.

Who Pipedrive is best for
The published caps and the per-seat price decide who should pick this fighter.
- Sales teams of 3 to 30 that work deals stage by stage and want the pipeline on screen all day
- Founders who want automations and email sync for under $25 per seat without an onboarding contract
- Teams that have been burned by hidden limits and want every cap printed before they sign
- Agencies and brokers that sell subscriptions or installments, since Growth includes subscription revenue reports
- Teams that need call briefs and transcripts, because Nova meeting intelligence is listed on every plan
- Companies that want REST API and webhooks on the cheapest tier, which Pipedrive provides
Who should skip it
Three kinds of team will be fighting the product instead of their competitors.
- Anyone who needs a free plan, because there is none beyond the 14-day trial
- Teams where marketing automation must share the CRM database; HubSpot and Zoho both do that natively
- Managers who build complex cross-object reports, the most repeated gap in verified reviews
What the trial includes and what each plan adds (as of October 2026)
There is no free tier. The pricing page offers a 14-day trial with full access, no credit card, and the FAQ says you can invite as many colleagues as you want into it.
Lite, the entry plan, lists lead, calendar and pipeline management, AI-powered report creation, 500-plus integrations and Nova meeting intelligence. Email is bcc-forwarding only.
Growth adds full two-way sync with Gmail, Outlook or company email, open and click tracking, automations, nurturing sequences, subscription and forecast reports, and the meeting scheduler. This is the first plan most teams can actually run on.
Premium adds LeadBooster lead capture and routing, custom scoring, company data enrichment, AI email tools with shared team inboxes, contracts with e-signatures, and required and formula fields with group-level permissions.
Ultimate adds security rules and alerts, phone and email data enrichment, a sandbox account, extended phone support hours and partnership discounts on PandaDoc, CloudTalk and Surfe.
How the pricing is structured
Per the pricing page checked October 10, 2026, billed annually per seat per month: Lite $14, Growth $24, Premium $49, Ultimate $69. Billed monthly: $19, $34, $64, $89. The page describes the annual discount as up to 26 percent. Prices exclude VAT.
Annual plans are charged as one payment: $168, $288, $588 or $828 per seat per year.
Add-ons are priced per company, starting from $32.50 for LeadBooster, $16 for Projects, $13.33 for Campaigns, $41 for Web Visitors and $32.50 for Smart Docs. LeadBooster, Projects and Smart Docs are included on Premium and Ultimate.
There is no seat minimum and no onboarding fee listed. The FAQ states implementation is free when you sign up for a plan over $400 a year, which at annual billing is any plan with 3 or more seats.
Our editorial arithmetic for 10 seats billed annually: Lite $1,680 per year, Growth $2,880, Premium $5,880, Ultimate $8,280. The HubSpot CRM vs Pipedrive bout sets those against HubSpot Professional at $12,000 plus onboarding.
Ease of use: what the 9 is built from
Pipedrive scores 9 of 10 on ease, tied with HubSpot. The evidence is different in kind.
First, the product has one job. A new rep sees a pipeline, drags deals between stages, and the activity feed tells them what to do next. The pricing page describes it as not requiring an IT degree, and the user base agrees: Capterra scores ease of use at 4.5 of 5 across 3,062 reviews, page updated October 10, 2026.
Second, the pricing page is the clearest in this division. Four plans, caps printed under each, add-ons priced separately. A buyer can estimate a year of cost without a sales call.
It drops one point because Capterra reviewers repeatedly say automations are powerful but unintuitive to set up, and because the mobile app draws recurring complaints about navigation. Zoho CRM is harder to learn; HubSpot is bigger to learn.
Features: what the 8 is built from
Features score 8, the lowest round on Pipedrive's card, and the reason is scope rather than quality.
What is there is solid and documented. Customizable pipelines are unlimited on every plan. Growth brings automations with delay steps and if-else branches, sequences, forecast views and subscription revenue reports. Premium brings lead routing, custom scoring and shared inboxes. Ultimate brings a sandbox.
Integration breadth is 500-plus apps per the pricing page, with REST API, webhooks and a published MCP server. API token budgets scale from 30,000 per seat per day on Lite to 210,000 on Ultimate.
The points come off for three documented gaps. Lite has no automations and no email sync. Marketing email and visitor tracking are add-ons at every tier. And the usage table shows real ceilings: 30 custom fields per company on Lite, 100 on Growth, 300 on Premium, 500 on Ultimate; reports per seat at 15, 50, 250 and 500. HubSpot and Zoho both go deeper in the same price band.
Value: what the 9 is built from
Value is scored at a realistic team size, and this is where Pipedrive wins the cluster.
At 10 seats, Growth costs $240 per month billed annually and includes email sync, automations and sequences. The nearest HubSpot plan with unrestricted automations is Professional at $1,000 per month plus $1,500 onboarding. Zoho Professional is $230 per month but needs more setup to reach the same workflow.
At 10 seats, Premium at $490 per month includes lead capture, routing, e-signatures and shared inboxes that would be separate add-ons elsewhere.
No onboarding fee, no seat minimum and free implementation above $400 a year complete the case. The one point it drops is the missing free tier: a 2-person team pays $336 a year on Lite for what HubSpot gives away. The fight card runs the numbers at 5, 10 and 20 seats.
Support: what the 8 is built from
Per the pricing page support section checked October 10, 2026: every plan lists the Knowledge Base and Academy, a 24/7 chatbot and 24/7 live chat with a human team. Phone support is by call request, and extended hours of Monday to Friday 7:00 to 23:00 CET are listed on Ultimate only.
Upper tiers list personalized onboarding from a strategic partner and eligibility for a dedicated customer success manager, subject to qualification and regional coverage.
That is a strong published baseline, and Capterra rates customer service at 4.4 of 5. The score stops at 8 because standard phone hours for Lite through Premium are not stated, and because 2026 reviews include accounts of features being gated behind upgrades after support interventions, with reviewers describing poor ownership of the issue. Those are individual cases, and Pipedrive responded publicly to them, but they recur enough to note.
What verified users report
On Capterra, Pipedrive holds 4.5 of 5 across 3,062 reviews, ease of use 4.5, customer service 4.4, page last updated October 10, 2026.
The praise clusters around the visual pipeline, quick adoption without an implementation agency, time saved by automations, and clean Gmail and Outlook integration. Several reviewers describe switching from HubSpot's free plan, Zoho CRM or Salesforce because Pipedrive was simpler to run.
The complaints cluster around reporting depth for complex analytics, the learning curve for building automations, the mobile app, email deliverability in the Campaigns add-on, and search filters.
None of these are quotes we can verify individually. They are themes across a large sample, which is how we weight them on the card.

Alternatives
Two fighters in the same CRM division are worth reading before you sign.
HubSpot CRM. Choose HubSpot if you are 2 people and want a free CRM, or if marketing already runs there and sales needs the same contact record. Otherwise choose Pipedrive if you want automations and email sync for $24 per seat with no onboarding fee. Read the HubSpot CRM review and the HubSpot CRM vs Pipedrive bout.
Zoho CRM. Choose Zoho if you need custom modules, territory management and sandboxes, or if 3 free users matter. Otherwise choose Pipedrive if you want a tool a new rep can run on day one. Read the Zoho CRM review and the Pipedrive vs Zoho CRM bout.
Bottom line
Pipedrive wins this cluster on points: 9 for ease, 8 for features, 9 for value, 8 for support. It is the only fighter that prints every cap on its pricing page, and Growth at $24 per seat is the best-priced plan with real automation in the division.
Its limits are honest ones. No free plan, no marketing suite, reporting that satisfies reps more than analysts.
If the pipeline is the product you need, this is the pick on the fight card. Our scoring rules are on the method page.
