SaasBout

Editorial policy and method

How Saas Bout decides what to cover, how pages are researched, and what we will never do.

The scorecard

Every bout is scored on four fixed rounds - ease, features, value at a realistic team size, and support - using a 10-point must system adapted from boxing: the stronger tool in a round takes 10, the other 9 or fewer depending on the gap. Rounds are set before the bout and never change.

Where the scores come from

Each round is scored from the vendor’s own documentation, pricing page and changelog, plus verified user reports on public review sites, with the date we read them printed on the card. We do not run paid trials of every product and we do not pretend to; a bout based on documentation says so at the top.

Draws and rematches

When the totals tie, the card is a draw and says which rounds matter for which reader. When a vendor changes pricing or ships a feature that would change a round, we rescore and note the change on the page.

What we never do

Frequently asked

Do you personally use every product you cover?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Where a page is based on first-hand use it says so, with the plan and the dates. Otherwise it is built from documentation, pricing history and verified user reports, and it says that too.

Can a vendor pay to be included or to improve a score?

No. Vendors can send corrections with sources, which we check like any other evidence.

How often are pages updated?

Prices and features are re-checked on a schedule and each page shows its last-checked date. Readers’ corrections are handled as they arrive.
